It’s January and everyone focused on goals for 2011.

Mandy and I were talking with another couple recently about all the talk on the social networking sites from people who seem to be very fired up to do big things in 2011. I am not sure why they waited, but good for them.

I won’t bore you with a lot of “How to make your wildest dreams come true in 2011” stuff.  Nor shall I go the route of “why I am a million times more awesome than everyone else and they all suck.”

One thing that is memorable for me in 2010 is that I was unable to do a lot of the stuff that I have done in the past due some knee issues that were diagnosed as bone spurs. To do any deadlifting, squatting or swinging would have been unwise. Consequently, my training outlet has become more and more focused on grip feats these last few months because of it.

Right now I have only one goal: Successful knee surgery tomorrow, removal of bone spurs and regaining lost ROM. I am hoping that within a month I’ll have regained my squatting pattern and am able to things that have been difficult for me these past few months. I’ll keep y’all posted.

I am curious to hear if you have any specific goals for this upcoming year. Please leave them in the comment section below.
