I draw inspiration from many places. I have always loved good music. You may or may not know that I was once a professional guitar player and that I played in several different bands in my teens and 20s. Lots of people ask me on Facebook, Twitter and on the road what I am listening to and share with me their favorite stuff.

Anyway, that got me to thinking that I should start doing a regular post on music, because there is so much that I dig.

Sometimes I listen just for the fun of it. But having grown up as a performer who is the son of a performer, I realize that everything affects performance. A feat of strength is another means of self-expression and I often think of the emotion that is being conveyed, just like a song.

So for the very first installment, I want to share a bit with the late, great Dimebag Darrel Abbott during the Height of the Pantera days, in a clinic setting. Getcha pull!
